I too lost my job a few weeks ago due to the economy. I didn't think I'd be looking for a job at 61 years of age.. Oh well, being originally from Pennsylvania, I'm used to being laid off or on strike from the steel mills and foundries years ago.

Moved to Rochester, NY in 1973 and got laid off from Kodak in 1977. Quit Kodak to start my own business in 1999. Worked in Canada for 2 years as a consulting manager and was laid off in 2001 after 911. Worked another job as a technical writer for 6 months and got laid off due to lack of work.

At least this job lasted 5 years. Few months closer to retirement I guess.
