I finally got pictures to load onto the site, I had to compress the picture bigtime though so quality is a little low.

I'm going to paint the car black because the color it currently is, very ugly.
Mabey? No actually it stands for diesel but that is a "Duh" reply.
Ive always been a fan of stuffing american iron between the rails of foreign cars. Didnt you say you were planning on putting a chevy mill in it in the future?
That's correct, In fact the near future. I will be stuffing a chevy 350 in it. I will start the conversion on saturday, april 17. This is the weekend after the weekend Hunter Mountian ( where I'm employed ) shuts down, It will be my first free weekend.
After Hunter shuts down I'v got every weekend free until November or december 2004 when Hunter Mountian reopens for the 2004-2005 season. If putting that car togther in one weekend was possible i would be amazed and suprised. You may have missunderstood me when I said this was my first free weekend. april 15 2004 is the end of Ski season and april 17 2004 is for me, the start of Car building season which will end when the mountian reopens and the course repeats.
Do you know where to get information on putting Chevy power into a MB? I have a 450sl that I would love to swap a 350 into.
Tom
Must say it is not my favorite body style, but hey, it's your car! Have fun with the project.
Anyone who realises the merit of a V8 in a 4dr car is OK in my book. But, can you change the lights? maybe a mean looking pair of square bulbs? just my thought.
Heres a link to the forum in which I posted. There is a lot of information on here.http://www.clubhotrod.com/forums/sho...?threadid=3805Quote:

Heres another picture
The Nice leather interior and In my opinion a very nice dashboard. I like the vents especially.
You're crazy man, but I would rather see a young guy with a V-8 benz than see him in a straight piped 4 bangin' H*nd@!!!!!!
Those ricers are crappy. There is no talant in building them into a tuner, you just glue some vynals to it and vwala, you got a fart can tuner. V8 chevy is the only way to go.
Crazy? I like it.
With the mild and reliable power you are putting in it it would make a killer sleeper on the street.
Build what ya want, Matt. Dan hit the nail on the head, with a bit of horsepressure yer Benz would make a super kewl ricer killer. Hot Rodding is about self-expression not duplication. Have a ball, and keep us updated.
Will do, although I will not be starting the project until April, 7, 2004
Heres a pic of the rear.
Remember, 4drs with power are great for killing ricers. Just be sure to keep a tally of "rising suns" in the glovebox! hehe. Heres my ride. Lets see how many laugh.
Race ya when I'm done with mine. He He. Car looks nice. What's it got under the hood, a 403 olds?
Heres the center console, Dual climate control, climate control air conditioning and controls for the moon roof and power antenne. Belive it or not all of the lighting for the switches are fiber optic. For anyone who's wondering the the radio is an oem Becker that still works great. As in all Mercedes the window switches are behind the shifter. Not shown is another mercedes trait that can be found in most all Mercedes is the On- dash ignition, ( behind the steering wheel ).
I like the floor shifter. Got one in the eagle, not in the olds. Come tomorrow, ill take a pic of my interior. Yeah, im running a 403, and your in pratsville? cool, this should make the cops ask questions when 2 4drs are reported racing together! What options you have? I have the guage package, limited slip rear and AM/FM casette. everything is manual. seats, windows, locks, everything. But, you should be optioned out right? that'll be great for chick crusin:toocool:
My car has power windows, locks, moonroof and dual climate control. Th seats are manual. I have vanity dome lights, this is when you open the rear doors only, the rear dome comes on and has a timer, so the door can be closed and the lights will be on until they time out, this also apply's to the front doors. I also have vanity lighted mirrors on the sun visors. I belive the seats are heated but I have not found the switches. Prattsvillian cops are drunk at the tavern saturday nights. we actually have no local cops just one green county sherrif that checks up every once and a while.
I forgot to mention, power 4 wheel disk brakes with drum brakes mounted over the rear rotors for e-brake and, 4 wheel indipendent suspension. I think my rear end is limited slip, but I'm not shure. What's the gague package consist of?
I was thinkin about superchargin it today but, I dont know how i can make the hood a lift off hood, because my grille is like dodge truck grilles ( there attached to the hood )
Do you think I should paint my car the color of the car on the right? I quickly photoshoped the pics to get that color. that's why the lights and the ground are messed up colors, I just ajusted for that color.
I like blac 'sades! but I am just a chick! LOL
I to like black but, it's 2 hard 2 keep clean and it costs 2.00 to go to my local carwash
But you'r the only chick I know that is a gear head, which is cool. And I like your choice of colors, that cool blue looks nice on that 71 pontiac.Quote:

The Catilina would look good Black as well! I used to be a Rotor Head( I used to wrench on army helicopters) I also like to leave the boyz scratching their noggin! LOL
It's 2 bad i have red interior and not black, I would paint it blue with traditional flames. Do you like the look of my car?
definately. Red interior goes great with black. I had a 79 olds Delta 88 Holiday with red interior and black out.
Black's about the cheapest and longest lasting color you can buy. Maby I will go black with traditional flames. I was also thinking about a silver grey maby, my mom once had a 69' Opel Gt and it was silver grey with red interior and she said it looked good but, I dont want it to look GOOD, I want it to look HOT.
Go for a state green. Deturs cops.
Umm, Christmas car, Ya. Just kiddin but my interior is red so it would seem a little christmasy. It would look good with black or tan interior but the black Mercedes put out is hard to find and the tan is tan orange. I'm keeping my eye out for a parts car with black interior though.
I don't know yet but, I may not have enough funding for the Benz this year and, I will be looking at a 59 Chevy Impala and a 68 Camero. If ither are cheap enough I will buy one and fix it and sell it next year for funding for the Benz project. This could give me more expierence to. I may also look at a 71' Dodge Demon in Athens for $750 that needs body work. I'm not certine yet though.
I been thinkin, I will still do the Benz but I will do it next year, I do not have the money this year. for this year I want an older car, pre 1975. I want a car with a posi and a 4 speed. I really want a musclecar. I want the 68 camero I may have a chance at, I may be able to get a 47 Chevy 2 dr, or the 71 Demon. I may also get the 59' Impala but that's my moms dream car really. all ot the cars I just listed need work and are not # matching so I would be able to make it my own car without having to worry about it's origionalness.
The Benz needs to much work right now, and all the parts needed are expenisive. It needs new sunroof gasket $80, all door seals $67 each, the tail lights need work as all do not come on. This is on top of the cost of repowering it which would drain me with just that. I'm not watin round for money for door seals for 1 year just so i could drive it the next year.
Hello folks I am new here, but I thought I would add what I have, I have a 78 mercedes 240 with a small block ford "early high compression 302" anyhoo its a tough job and I am looking into a subframe swap to make it a better one because the ford engine knocks up against the steering box there is other problems but this is quite a mod to take on.
oops I forgot to mention the reason I am looking into a frame swap is because I want a small block chevy......
