The painter and I were invited to another shop one day for a shop tour by a fabricator that we dearly miss. He said they had a project they were making headers for . What a fantastic place. When i saw the car my jaw hit the floor. This is nostalgia at its best. The men that drove these cars had balls of steel. No front brakes, the welds on the upper a-arms were scary to say the least. It was great to see how a race car of this era was built. The 427 sohc motor is a nos piece supposedly never fired up. The price tag was hefty. About 20 minutes into this a car pulls up. Ron covell steps out. What a fun day for a hot rod guy...You can see Ron in the background of the first pic.
I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
