Glad this thread came up as I have to transport my car about 100 miles to get the upholstery finished before licensing but need some coverage while in transport and at the shop. I got a 'winged' quote from both Hagerty and Grundy at the Right Coast show in July. Grundy was about 2/3rds the price of the other ~$400 vs ~$600/yr (remember, NY State - the land of high prices!!) based on a $40K value. Have there been any problems with either - claims, usage as I'll probably not wander too much from these two (maybe Taylor) and for sure don't need any mile or distance limits?

Grundy told me they wouldn't insure an unfinished car, Hagarty does, they even insure an inventory of parts that aren't associated to any car on the policy. You might want to verify if Grundy still has that policy.

It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
