4.6 in a Rambler.. questions..

First off, the engine bay in my Rambler should be wide enough, if the engine at it's narrowest is 27"... but then I have the problem of the charging system.. The rambler currently has a 32A Motorola alternator, which I'm not even sure could run the 4.6's electronics, let alone, the A/C, cruise control and other things it will have after I'm done.. but what kind of alternator could I run? I don't think the stock 4.6 ford alt will like the ramblers wiring harness. I know the rambler can easilly be hooked into a GM 3 wire alt by changing some wires around, but can I get a custom unit that will fit the Ford mounts, and be a GM 3 wire?

Forget the Rambler wiring harness and start over completely with an aftermarket harness compatible with the 4.6.... So much easier to start with all new wiring then trying to patch up, splice, and decipher a stock harness with all the extra junk in it that you won't even need.... One of the first things to go on the Bronco was the harness....

would I have to change the wiring to the lights, blower motor ect....

my thinking was wiring the stock 4.6 computer and electronics in kind of in tandem using some relays and an ignition source to trigger them.. but only because I'd like a quick change over...

also, what can I do about the speedo? just thought about that

Trust me.... Forget the stock stuff and get an aftermarket harness and rewire the entire car!!!!! Forget quick and cheap, do it right the first time and you'll have a lot fewer problems and a lot neater job....

could I use the entire harness from the donor car?.. seems as tho there a close enough match, kind of.. I found an aftermarket harness for $695 but it comes with a computer and trans controller, things I was hoping to rob off of the donor
