When I was in the Army 1964 my driver was a 57 Chevy bel air 4 dr. sedan. It was cool after I threw away the expensive trim pieces of today’s market. The rockets, the screen behind the grill bar, I kept the bar, took off the V, plus what ever else I could get to, and of course the hubcaps. I would be happy with another one today. I wasn’t afraid of it getting scratch marks, or road chips; it got decent mileage at 30 cents per gallon. It had really nice interior, and a great back seat for those nights at the drive in theater.
I was looking for a picture of it, by my dad’s new 65 Impala SS 396 ,boy that was a nice car, burgundy exterior, with black bucket seats.
