I like them, though I prefer the 68-72 body style....
i like 68-72 also, but the 61-66 appeals to me more, price wise they arent too badQuote:

I agree. I have always been a pick-up man.Quote:

The only thing I do not like about these trucks are the Twin I Beams. Twin I beams are fine for hauling and to use as a truck but if you want a nice street truck and lowered they are a pain to lower and cost a lot. BUT.... There is a fix for this and it's quite easy and nice (takes a lot of weight off the front too). Find an 03 and up Crown Vic and use the crossmember from it. These are aluminum which are MUCH MUCH lighter than the whole Twin I beam, they are power rack and pinion steering and the best thing... They bolt RIGHT UP to the stock frame on the 60's F100's. Doing this swap without drop springs or anything will lower the truck about 5 inches.
You can get these crossmembers from a junk yard for anywhere from 200-400 bucks and that includes EVERYTHING on the front of the frame.

Check that site out.
i stumbled across one for 9oo bux but i am broke good deals when i dont have the funds
I also like the 68-72 and my daily is a 69 Crewcab. The 65-66 is the same chassis and all the chassis parts through 79 pretty much fit so it is a bolt up deal to put later disc brakes, power steering ect. on a slick. I have owned a couple and they are excellent cabs, like most old fords. The 61-64 is still a solid front axle with leaf springs. They are cool too and the unibody big window would be my pick of that vintage.
I really want another 57 tho.
I saw a 58 Chevy Cameo going for a few grand three years ago, after the owner passed away. If I knew you guys were around to help, I would have bought it. It had a rebuilt performance engine ready to drop in, the body work completely sanded and preped, and the frame all done. It was in pieces, just needed paint, new wiring and reassembly! Looking at what I have in my truck now, and factoring in the engine, body work,......Ouch! I should of jumped on it!
The big window Unibody is an awesome truck. I'd love one of those!
I have a 66 F250 thats getting a 460/C-6 along with p/s and disc brakes and front and rear sway bars, its also getting painted over the winter and its going to be a tow and hauling truck not a hotrod. Jeff
That 460 will pull like hell. Will be nice. I wanted to put a 460 into mine but never came across one so never did it. I have a 351W in it now and I know guys with 460's in their 60's and 70's F100's getting just as good, if not better gas milage than me!
i have always wanted a cameoQuote:
