And speaking of Edsel's, this was the very first one, built by Ford for Edsel Ford, I believe in 1935 and now in the Petersen Museum in LA

That red one is actually pretty cool.

Here are some pictures of the Edsel Jay posted after it was painted. Some guys responded to his post on the HAMB about it and put up these pictures. Looks much better in paint. Still not my cup of tea either, but it does look better.

Very interesting. It shows what a little imagination and a lot of work can do. Actually, I think this is a cool idea. It's a way to get into the car hobby with something unique and not have to lay out an exhorbitant amount of money for a useable body. There are lots of old bodies out there that aren't really good candidates for restoration or customizing, but would be good candidates for something like this.

Maybe something like a pair of '59 Chevy quarters off of an old rusty 4-door nobody wants and blend those into a '70 - '73 Camaro grille... Just a thought. There must be endless possibilities.

I agree. The studebaker I posted on an earlier thread was done similarly.

I love rods, and consider the '32 Ford roadster the quintessential hot rod......but after seeing 10,000 of them, the "thrill" loses some of it's zing. :-)

The Edsel roadster is an interesting car, a true sight to behold. Me, personally, I wouldn't want to be caught dead in it, much less alive.

Now that is a beauty! Looks a little like the high dollar hot rod that hit the news stands a couple of weeks ago that we were all joking would look better with a propeller. This one is cool!

Another one that comes to mind, done in this style, was a '30s roadster with a 40 Ford grill out front.

Hope they didn't use any scarce parts that a real car might have needed. I'd rather have a Nash Metropolitan.

It's creative but not necessarily in a good way. Unique thats for sure. I think this is a lot more creative in a good way.
