I'll take pictures.. prolly going to need some help too. lol I would have got the dash too but I couldn't have fitted it in the car and I don't know what I would have used it for.. The dash and rear axle and the trunk lid were the only 3 real solid parts on the car..
then there was the Hemi in the '57 Plymo, 232 6cyl in a '66 AMC Rebel that would have been a nice upgrade to the 196 in my Rambler... '64 Buick with A nailhead... too bad I don't have room for all that stuff

If you could get the dash for a reasonable price you could use it later, or sell it for a pretty good profit. The 55 Chevy dash is pretty popular even the cheaper 150’s without the bow ties. See if it has the steering wheel also, and if the headlight assemblies or the top of the fenders to cut out. What ever looks good enough to save?

the headlight assemblies and the top of the fenders were rusted out compltely.. dash was good and solid but the instrumentation was stripped out.. glove box door was there tho, and steering colum was gone.. doors were gone. trunk lid was good.. rear bumper was solid, but needed plating.. I looked under the hood to find a 235 6cyl but I checked to see if it was locked up and, indeed it was.
at some point someone picked the car up with a fork lift thru the door openings, and it started to seperate the roof from the rest of the car...
I'm pretty sure it was a 210 sedan. trim was all pulled off but the trim I found in the trunk, was 210 trim I think
Whatever looks decent pick it up if you can? It's ok with out the instrument cluster they have special ones to fill the hole. Unless someone took the trim off the dash it would have the bow ties are they still on?

dash is stripped :( .. I might go back tho.. it is about 1.5 hours away, but could be worth it.. I'd pick up at least the dash.. maby try to get the 232 and crossmember from the '66 Rebel.. it would fit the Rambler nice if/ when the 196 goes out.Quote:

Well, I might go back next week. there was a '51 Plymouth too.. and a Volvo P544V ( looks like a fat fendered Ford ) 2dr that looked lt should not have been there ( awsome chrome, solid ect... )..
I took a 3M rolloc disc to 1 of the '55 Chevy taillight surrounds and found an old lead repair that was falling out.. so I took a propane torch and melted it out to see what I had to work with, and it's not bad at all, wasn't rusted, it looks like the metal was torn.. IDK what happened to it but I know I can fix it.. less than 1/2" of repair needs to be made
If you could save the 51 Plymouth that would be nice. A lot of guys are using them as rat rods. Was it a 2 door? I would like to cut the top off from mine and put a carson top on but that's just another dream. If you get a chance take some pictures, we would love to see junkyard pictures of old cars. I would like to walk through, you don't see too many with old cars left anymore most have been crushed.

Have you been following {Itoldyouso} Don, and Dan's 49 Ford build, they are making some fast progress out of a 4 door they are converting into a 2 door. Try to keep the owner from sending the cars to the crusher.

there is a nice '58 Chevy pickup cab that I could get easy.. cabs are $99 bare, it has no doors tho.
