    Progress pictures of the Thames .............

     



    went down to Randleman today to take a look at the sheetmetal progress on Timmy ................ some of the work is beautiful

    The rear doors are mounted .... they haven't been leveled or adjusted yet, but the old wooden mounts are gone and new, adjustable steel mounts have been made for the hinges and the doors work really smooth ......... the old rain gutter above the doors will be replaced with a reverse bead roll



    A new, strengthened seat attachment floor has been welded in place



    Vance Frazier has fabricated this gorgeous transmission tunnel on an English wheel



    The new , custom built firewall has been tacked into place ............ permanent attachment will be after brake and steering systems are mocked up for installation

    The new sheet metal quarter panels have been tack welded into place ......



    The Cobra seats look as though they were built expressly for installation in a Thames



    Now that the dimensions have been figured out, the lips for the wheel wells will be built to extend out to the first tread on the rear tires



    The front body mounts have been welded into place and support the body beautifully

    We're going to run a 327 Chevrolet originally out of a '66 Nova SS (300 horse), Competition 270 cam and kit, MSD ignition, and a set of injectors built by Alan Shadwick



    Transmission is a TurboHydro 350 with a B&M 2500 stall converter .......... rear is a 9" Ford sporting 3.50:1 gears

    That should be plenty to motivate a 2,000 pound car

    Coyote,thats awesome,,hope that seat upholstery isnt too tight,gotta allow for the pucker factor...

    You guys are still a little better off than us down here,we are currently paying 1.78 per litre,thats 91 octane,1.82 for 95 octane,[4.5 litres in an imperial gallon],and looking at two bucks a litre inside the next few months.
    Thats why the F100 is on LPG,average 1.08 a litre.
