help identify old windshields

:confused: I have a stack of old windshields,they are all flat thick glass with frames/brackets that bolt to cowl. They are all different,some tall,some short,some are split horizontaly and pivot or rotate,some have manually operated wipers,some are curved on the bottom,some straight,most have good glass in them,I would like to trade or sell them but dont know what cars they came off of. Do people want to use this old non-safty glass in cars they drive? I assume they would be OK for a restoration to origanal,these have been stored in an attic for 60? years or more,no rust ,nice shape,I have been told that they are not "T" or "A". They do all have frames,so does that mean they came off roadsters?

I think your chances of ever finding out what they really fit would be slim to none. I bought an old windshield frame off of Ebay that I used on my T, and I have never been able to find out what it came off of. People can identify fenders, bodies, and that kind of stuff, but windshields would be a long shot.

Maybe in Hemmings or on line you can find a glass supplier who deals in restorations of cars in that era, and they might be able to tell you.

When I took my windshield to have tinted safety plate in it the guy told me that old non safety rated glass is an accident waiting to happen, when it breaks lots of sharp spears are created. :eek:

So,if I want to sell one maybe take a picture,give the length,height,sell to someone building a hotrod,on ebay?

Withsome pics, the odds of them being identified are greatly improved. I for instance, am looking for a 1919 dodge touring frame and mounts. I could tell in seconds if you had one from pics, but I'll never know from blank pages.:)

I will take pics and measure height x width and post and see what happens,I will never use these but I bet someone out there has been looking for years, if I could identify them
