Hi Gasser. One word of advice for your buddy............GOLF.
Poor guy doesn't seem to have much luck with hot rods.
One thing that confuses me is what you say about Florida not titling cars that old..........they sure do. My one car is titled as a 1915 and it has a Florida title. I think I would go back to ground zero and start with the ad on Ebay. Did it state it had a title? That is usually stated because people want to know. If it does say that I would go back to the seller and Attorney and demand some help.
Since I am down here I will do whatever I can for you. If you want me to call anyone or visit them I would be willing to do that for you. I know how frustrating it is to try to solve some problem when you are clear across the country, so just let me know and I'll do whatever leg work I can for you here. I don't want to get in over my head in this either, but will sure try to help you out.
I don't think it is as bad as it might seem. There is an Attorney involved and the car was sold in a very visible way. I know how tough your State is though and you need to do everything right.
Just let me know.
Don
