Good day all. I have read (and re-read) everything I can find on hot rod builds etc.. In the beginning I thought I wanted a suicide front end, but after reading lots of negatives on this style, I may come to change my mind. I have thought about maybe fabricating some kind of safety devices to fasten to frame and extend out over radius rods to keep the frame front up out of the pavement in case the spring breaks, never seen any photos of anything like this. Then I have been thinking, why not extend the frame out beyond the radiator and install the front axle crossmember out there. Then it would be as original, (spring and axle under frame), in case the spring should break the frame could settle on the axle still. And this design would give somewhat the appearance of a suicide front, that is, a pronounced longer front end. Any thoughts on this? Anyone done it before, any pics? Starting to mock up our '29 Essex Coupe (to be a highboy) and the old gears are a-turning, smoke is a-flying! haahaaaa. Thanks. perley oldrodder43
