Denny thanks for including the truck. If Brent likes this design, we may have to bribe you to get our cars in the lead position!

Tomorrow is supposed to be the end of submissions and the beginning of judgement day/week/whatever time frame Brent specifies. On page 6 I laid out some of my thoughts on the process and would like to expand on that a little as well as giving a preliminary vote of sorts.

We've had quite a few interesting submissions and some folks obviously have spent some time and talent coming up with ideas. And I think it important that we keep in mind what some of the technically experienced folks have had to say about possible future production contraints/factors. While there are some of the submissions I like as art, they don't fit what would be effective as a logo. They would make great poster art, maybe even an elaborate T-shirt design, but not a logo. If we want poster art, let's create a place to display it, but let's not try to "force" it as a logo.

I also think Brent should consider making it easier for us to compare for voting purposes. I just spent a while viewing the dozen pages and quite frankly it's a chore to jump back and forth to compare. Some of the folks have put up multiple choices and I find myself jumping back and forth trying to see which of their own designs they may like best. What I would like to see is all the designs compiled on one page (if that's possible) so that it's easier to compare side by side. In order to make that process easier, perhaps the submitting artists could self edit and withdraw any of their own submissions that they no longer consider their best effort to contract the field.

Personally, applying my own standards, I'm not sure we really need to change from the current logo, with the possible exception of revising the "Great....." subtitles. If I HAD to choose from the new ones I would have to say I like Signshop's first submission as clean, artsy, and concise. It is stylish without adding too many elements of narrow definition. It would work on both a shirt and hat. Along those same lines, the orange flame design from bonehead has real punch! It wastes no time or space getting to the point. We're hot, and here's our address. Just about perfect for a hat logo especially. Actually I can also see a t shirt with a good sized version of Signshop's logo on the back, and boneheads logo in smaller size on the upper chest (sort of like the name above a pocket). Alternatively, the yellow deuce roadster version from pairodice hits my traditional tendency, is nicely artsy without being too busy, but does imply more of a single version of hot rodness than is represented by the membership. I'd probably drop the "The original......." reference since it's not really accurate, and it's removal would simplify the design for hat/shirt production.

    JMHO.

It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.

Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.

This server keeps crashing right as I upload. It is beginning to get irritating.

Bob, I agree the "logo" should be simple and that's what this started as.

However it has evolved into cool art project/idea sharing that has designs that would be perfect for tee-shirts. If it's the hundred bucks, give that for the logo. I'll personally pitch in $10 towards the best tee shirt design from the above work. While most companies have a distinct logo, they also use multiple artwork designs on the back of tee shirts, logo on front pocket or left front pocket area on a no pocket tee shirt.
The cool stuff that is here should be used for this purpose I feel. Thanks, Steve

I am having the same problems with server.......

I just wanted to add that all of the work I did, as well as the majority of the others can be reworked. My posts were just for the basic idea. I think I put most on here as a jpg, which I don't use for my shirts.
And I agree that there are great designs here for shirts, and for logos. Good job everybody.

will accept your with draw, your nuts, you are one of the that has some of the best ideas here, we are all adults here so we should act as such, you for one help me and others in putting our adds in,we were asked to put in our ideas and we did ,I too agree that signshop had a good one, I liked the one with the headlights which I could not find again, but this my opinion only, the grille looks like a jeep grille not a hotrod, that 's why I went back to try to find it again but was unable,so sorry amigo.. but I am putting you back in the contest, remember guys Brent said he was going to let us vote, so if we like the original one,(vote) case closed if there's one thing I've learned in life,
thats never cheat to win,but give it all you have,if I lose I will accept your victory with honor, try harder next time..
