55 ford panel truck ??`s
When i was in daytona yesterday, a guy offered me a trade for a 55 panel truck, i have not seen it yet, but i will be checking into it. Ive never had one, so i have no knowledge of owning a panel truck, but ive always liked them. Is there anything i need to watch out for, as far as trouble areas on the body, common problems specific to these models? Also my buddy owned a 60 panel and he had trouble registering it because of the weight of it, they tried to label it a commercial vehicle, is this a common problem?Ill post pics when i get some, im really hoping its as good as he describes it, im real excited about it.

1960 Panal is a Commercial vehicle tecnically... in Ny, any truck 1/4 ton up is automaticly registered as a commercial vehicle unless you ask diffrently, you can register as a passanger vehicle but not use as a commercial vehicle, but you could drive on the parkwaysYou don't know what you've got til it's gone

check the body mounts and the crossmembers under the floor, that's where they tend to rust out first...Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

A lot of states would make ya register a van or panel as a truck. But if ya put a window in the side you could register as a passenger vehicle, thats why in the 70's & 80's all those custom vans had little port hole windows... At least thats what I was told...
