Good Buy??
What do you guys think of this....
The asking price is $1,250 firm.
"1953 Dodge Coronet four door. Barn Fresh. I took this out of a barn where it had been sitting for 30 years. The 46,000 miles is correct. I worked on this car the whole winter and put on new fuel pump, had master cylinder resleeved and rebuilt, new wheel cylinder kits, new fuel filter oil and oil filter, new exhaust front to back, new front tires, new brake shoes, points, condenser, cap rotor wires, fixed all the lights. This car runs and drives good. I really think this would be a good car with just a little more work."
"This car runs and drives good. Plenty of power. Door panels are in pretty good shape, dash is nice, seats have covers on them. This car never came with a radio, but I bought one off of ebay, and it will go with the car. The trunk has the original mat in it and it looks good. The windshield is cracked. The car is very solid. Had some rust in the drivers floor, but I welded a plate in and it looks good. There is only one other spot of rust that needs to be taken care of. The rocker panel at drivers side has about a 1 x 3 inch area. Most of the stainless is good except for one or two pieces, which I have seen on ebay from time to time. Bumpers need to be rechromed and car needs to be repainted because this is the original paint. The rear tires need to be replaced. All gauges work except for the gas gauge."
My main concern is the lack of parts availablilty for this car, but then again I am not planning on doing a whole lot to it other than maintanance.
Dammit, another good ol boy gone. Condolence to the family. RIP Mike
