T Bucket ideas

As a T bucket is 1 of my favorite hotrods, I have been thinking about eventully doing 1, after the Chevy is done of course. I was wondering, what is the cheapest I could possibly build it for, without a V8, just a GM V6 like a 2.8 or somthing, is it doable with less than 3k? Also, does anyone know what my Falcon is worth, I looked on NADA, and it was very vauge on what was what, low value said good mech condition needing cosmetic repair or could also be a poor restoration or an As is vehicle, and avarage said basicly, fair paint and good mech condition. The only bodywork the car needs is a little work in the rear 1/4's and a very slight amount in the front?

How about some pics instead Matt? If I find any I will post them here. T buckets are my favorite too and I want to eventually build one in a few years. I need to get my car done first and then get me a vehicle to drive everyday too. I think after the 48 I wanna build a drag truck where it will only see track and build that slowly when I have time and extra money and until then I will save for a T or something else.

I grew up wanting a T myself Matt, my older cousin picked me up from school in the 6th grade in his T bucket (1966)and took me home, I was hooked.
Here in south central Missouri they are about $1200.00 for a good body and frame with front end. There is alot to go on one after that. You would have to have no frills at all and it would be close but with a good wrecking yard close by you could have something on the road I think. There is one in our car club that has a ford 4 banger in it and it was bought for around 5k and they drive it everyday.
As far as you falcon, go through all the net sits you can think of and find and just see. I am sure you can find some for sale out there some where, say "Deals on Wheels" for ezample.

I have a couple good junk yards round here with older cars in them( 1 of them has 2 identical '46-'48 Fleetlines sitting just outside the walls ). My grandfather has an old set of the 1930's car, headlight buckets, 7" I think, the chrome is gone but, they could be cleaned up and painted, Engine/ trans would also not be a problem, lots of cheap S10's with rotted bodies to offer there drivetrain, like a 2.8 or 4.3 Vortec. I gotta finish the '51 first though.

I hear that Matt, I have 3 projects ahead but I am thinking of building a couple and selling a couple and maybe come out with enough mula to biuld a bucket

Matt, you said 47 and 48? Think you can look at those front fenders on them and if there is very little rust (pictures would be nice if possible) see how much they would sell em for and let me know? If you can do that then that would be GREAT! I really need some front fenders for my car to save me money and time to make new ones for mine. And I don't wan't glass now either I decided. Let me know.

If I get a chance, I'll check for ya, the yard is about an hour from my house.

Oh well you don't have to but it would be nice. Don't go out of your way or nothing for me though. If you ever go there for something though then that would be cool.

I go through the town it's in just about every week, It's just getting there in the daylight might be hard.

Found a guy with a mold outside Springfield Mo. Getting a glass body for $300. Another $20 and he's doing some 10" slabs in the mold for me to use to lengthen the body (I'm over 6' and tired of be cramped up in my 21 T)

Spirit Industries out of Arkansas sales bodies for under $400 + shipping. Just like all rods skies the limit.

Frame rails are just rec. tube. Car rear end and old straight axle front end. Have a buddy with Mustang II up front. Another buddy buit one for his wife with Mustang II power stearing. Both drive great but just don't have the look.

I plan on building my new one for about $2000. Stock 460, C-6 not much crome till later.

Interior, one guy here in Springfield has a back seat out of an unknown car, and speckall paint like I would use in a trunk (gray with white specks) on the side looks good. Most of the guys around here have been doing the interior themselves. Maybe it could look better but its not bad and we drive around a lot.


Like I said skies the limit. I think I'll have more fun building it quick & cheap then adding while I drive. Nothing like pulling up at a bud's to show off the new part

Hey Matt, why don't you yse the falcon as the donnor car for the t bucket. I think that could be very unique and very cheap to build.
I tossed a 71 maverick off a cliff in my younger days and I wish I still had it to build a t bucket. 140 6 cyl, 3 speed, light rear end ect.
