Bender board for upholstery panels compound curves
Someone out there must have information on this stuff. I have seen articles on it in rod magazines, but can't find them now. The product is a heavy cardboard or fibreboard that is scored partway through in a checkerboard pattern, (about 1/2" squares) on one side only. This makes the stuff quite flexible in 2 dimensions, so it can be formed into a compound curve. I can't remember if you sprayed it with a mist of water before forming into the required shape in your car interior or not. When it had dried and "taken a set" it could be removed from the car and coated with glass and resin, then upholstered. I know I didn't dream this stuff up, but I can not find it with web searches, and my old magazine collection has been lost in a move. Any help would be appreciated.Old guy hot rodder

Thanks guys! It's been a long road. Fun doing finishing work for sure. Getting the dash ready for paint and some interior trim. Have to do some finish work on the aluminum headliner before...
