Another question from the novice here...

What exactly determines the year of the vehicle when I register it?

I understand that if I find a '32 sitting in a barn and restore/rebuild it using the original parts then it is still a '32.

But, what if I bought a Cobra kit from somewhere like Factory Five and then bought a 460 crate motor for it. What then determines the "year"?

I guess the question boils down to this - how does one build and power a car and make it "pre-emissions"? All the crate motors I see from Ford Racing say they can't be used on emissions controlled vehicles.

I'm so confused...

Thanks for all the info!
