My future son-in-law came out to the shop a couple days ago to inspect the new front end. Later (Jenni told me) he would really like a ride when i get it runnin'. With a straight face I told her ....... sure thing..... but he has to wear a diaper.

I suppose his answer was, it all depends, right?Quote:

Thats what I was talking about Pro.....he'd poop his pants before he wrecked it. Most of the young ones never have even ridden in a 500+ hp car.
Luckily, my wife like the cars as much as I do. Tried to teach her a five speed to no avail. Brought the T-bird home (with the intent of reselling it). My wife saw it, asked a few questions, and asked if it was automatic. "yes". She took a spin (390) and said I was not allowed to sell it. Brought home the Effie (merc. 312) with automatic (manual steering) she drove that, and said it too has to stay with us. I got lucky, she punched the gas, and lit the tires up, but luckily, wrestled it to a stop. She won't drive it until I get power steering (which could be a while, I don't want to share the pick-em-up).

I'll give him a ride ......... hehehe .........someday....... It'll B worth it just to see his reaction.:3dSMILE: :3dSMILE: :3dSMILE: :HMMM:Quote:

The following story doesn't involve my wife driving, but she was there right beside me.
We used to attend a hot rod BBQ every year back when I had my 32 Ford. The last year we went, I had just finished changing it over from a basically stock 350 to a rather warm 468. This BBQ is in a pretty secluded area and when everyone was leaving they had to do a smokey burnout. There must have been about 500 people there most of which had video cameras to catch all the action. My wife was getting over a pulled muscle in her back and had to use a cane to get around all day. Well, it's time for us to go. On the way out I reached behind me and turned on the nitrous bottles just to do a purge and get everyone all pumped up, including myself. My wife kept saying, "please don't do it, remember my back is still pretty sore". Don't worry honey, I'll only do a little one, and then we'll go home. I pull onto the street, did a huge nitrous purge, and hit the line lock. The car started pushing the front tires, so I mashed the pedal and hit the magic button. Off we went, tires melting, engine bumping off the rev limiter, then the ass end went a little to the right, then a little to the left, and by the time I had enough sense to get out of it, the car had gone too far and I lost it. We spun all the way around, and ended up facing the other way. We sat there for a second, I asked her if she was ok, she just had this "look" in her eye, and I started up the car and drove home nice and easy. She did mention that her back didn't hurt anymore though.
I keep asking my wife if she wants to drive my car even if it's just around the neighborhood and she says no. I think it may because it's so heavy and manual brakes... or she just thinks its ugly... and that hurts. Maybe one day if i catch her in the right mood.
