Rebuildable, or trashed?

The age old question still has the age old answer... how much money do you want to throw at it? I want to get the crankshaft out today and see it the journal will clean up. It should be mostly aluminum and babbitt to remove, then we'll see if the crank is okay. Another example of "cheap" ebay parts and why I hate to buy them! Cheap isn't ever cheap - is it?
That's what you are looking at in my pictures after maybe 10 hours of runtime! Just sayin!!! An original conn rod
from Kohler is 100 bucks by itself.. without the bolts! The weight of the cheapy parts wrist pin is almost 4 times the weight of the original... the vibrations were simply awful, like numb your feet and hands awful! cheap isn't really cheap, is it?!?!
Horizontal or vertical shaft? If it's a vertical shaft, would this work as a replacement?

Horizontal. but thanks for trying.
Got the crank out and also the piston. Piston lost 1 skirt.. crank seems to be cleaning up slowly but I think it'll be alright.
I've thought about re-powers before, my biggest hangup would be that the PTO's wouldn't be in the original position so mower decks, snow throwers, generators all would have to be reconfigured to work. I actually have in my shop right now a 3 cylinder Kubota diesel and I've done some measuring and I could make it fit. But the attachments would all need to be attended to..
I've got a couple of simplicities I'll make you a deal on.
