    New knee

Had my right knee replaced on Tuesday, been fighting it with it for almost eight years, I think it was time. I'm almost coherent again (meds wearing off), lol.

Hope your rehab goes smooth, with full range of motion! Thinking I may be looking at a hip one of these days....

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Ditto. Hope you can work all "the kinks" out.. and the meds, well.. I know when they operated on my back, there was a little "special" pill that would start calling my name and make me feel all warm and fuzzy. That one just flat out scared me!

First couple of days were just painful as h-ll for me, now it's down to an even painful as h-ll. Lol!

Seriously I way underestimated the pain levels, once I reconciled to that fact and adjusted my head, it's been much better. In the long run it will be great, and considering I was barely walking on the old knee because of the pain, well this ain't so bad after all.

Roger, the best advice I can give you on your hip is to not wait too long, as your hip wears the recovery becomes more painful, at least that was my case. Right now every day gets better for me, I figure in a month I'll be back to normal.

I'm on the road to recovery now, got a great doctor, his staff and the hospital gave me V.I.P. treatment. I can't wait to be able to stand and walk without a sh-it load of pain again.

Good to hear you seem to be on the road to recovery. I've heard that about knee replacement. It tends to be very painful. Hope everything keeps going well for you.

My wife had hers replaced many years ago. Never regretted it, always worked, hurt was gone. Later she had back problems and other ailments, ended up in a wheelchair with me taking complete care of her for two years, when asked about her level of pain, she would say that her knee was the only thing that did not hurt. So look forward to a complete recovery, it is worth it.

First knee I was on crutches for one day and took one pain pill. When they replace the 2nd knee, I wanted the doctor to put me in a coma. It was the most painful thing I’ve been through next to my hip. But that being said I would do it all over again because I had gotten to a point like yourself, I could hardly walk and in the winter my knee would freeze up and I’d walk like Chester. Good luck on the recovery and you’ll be happy you did it

Not a knee, but a hip story.

Dad was diagnosed with neural trauma back pain (layman terms here)

Turned out to be hip. (Pain migrating up the spinal hiway, don't ya know.)

    New hip, goodbye opiopds.
