This may have been discussed before, but I heard Reaper
of OKC St Outlaws say on u-tube about two months ago
that the Discovery Channel was selling the OKC street
outlaws show to someone else and the guys there were
unsure of what they would be doing.
I know Reaper talks a lot of BS, but was just wondering if
any of you guys have heard any rumors or truth to this
talk. RD

That was a hoax. If I remember right, he said Richard Rawlings bought the rights to the show. I think it was a gag thing at Sema.

I talked with a guy that appeared and raced on the show, as you probably know he said the only thing thats genuine is they exchange money, at least they quit acting like they where eluding cops! If Rawlings bought it I'll throw in the towel!

Same here! Can't figure out why anyone wastes time watching that crew...

I just like to see the cars them selves. All the BS is making it really hard to watch it though. If you think these cars aren't flat flying, you're mistaken. Haha The only diesel that runs against them, Tony Rizzi, his duramax powered truck has ran in the high 4s. And he can't run with the top guys. They still do elude the cops like old school street racing. You won't see that though on Discovery. Look on youtube for cash days 2017 as an example. I feel the no prep track events they do is a lot more safer though. Street racing is no good for anyone especially when no one knows it's happening......................

I'm not ashamed to say that I love watching them race! Those guys are flat out FAST! And I enjoy watching all the different racers from across the country. It was not long to see through the concept of "outlaw" racing. I'm sure that folks like the farm truck & azn and "the fish" take chances once in a while too.

But I find that it's just amazing how fast these guys are goin'.

You are correct of course. But the obvious deception in the first 6 or 10 episodes was bordering on silliness. Who among us on this site hasn't pulled a late night race on the local "track"? Even today it still goes on. We all acknowledge the practice. But it's obvious on this show when 20 trailers unload "street cars" that there is more to the story. At least they dropped some of the faux drama is all I'm trying to say.

It's a TV program, I accept it as such, I enjoy watching the cars and the races between similar or equally equipped competitors. I can do with less of the comic relief of AZN & Farm Truck though.

Go to around the 1hr 1min mark and watch on. If you watch the beginning you will see the line of trucks and trailers leaving to go to said spot.

these races are still going on here in texas and many of the 405 show up without the cameras . anytime you have 10 pole lights set up it is a legal race on a leased road with a permit and insurance .
any way you spin it these guys are still putting 1500 - 2000 hp to the street and have been for 20 years. most of the cars were daily drivers for many years until the money from the show came in .

You are correct Shine, been to our local track where these guys show up alot here in Missouri, super fast cars no question, I could just do without the canned drama that's added in, like I mentioned I talked with one that was on the show, besides the race its all added in drama.

50% of streetracing is all the drama.

Heck, I have been to several no prep races there is as much drama in the pits as there is on tv, for those that haven't seen one it's simply street racing at the track, betting and all, the formula here is simple, add money equals drama!

Saw where Reaper is or has built a 1969 Camaro 2380 lbs
with his big butt in it. Looks like he has gone Procharger for
next season. He should get a real outlaw from Discovery
channel like (tickle of Moonshiners) to drive it for him, as
he can't seem to get his down the track half of the time.
I agree it's mostly drama, but I still like to watch it. Must
be a lot of others watching too, as they have had several
season now, and these guys are making a name for themselves
across the country. May be that some of the (LEG) we have
seen over the last couple seasons have helped their ratings.
