I thrived in it and like I said above, I wrote many articles and posts.

Somewhere along the way, Jon sold the site to a group of Canadians and that's when the infighting began. One of the moderators took a vehement dislike toward me and made life difficult for me and others from the beginning. Most of the knowledgeable fellows with whom I started at the site have been run off or banned or simply don't post any more, so it was time for me to move on.

I'm probably not the easiest fellow to get along with on forums such as this, because i don't tolerate stupidity or slothfulness, but if a fellow comes along who will answer the questions put to him and show a genuine interest in learning how to do a certain thing, I will hang in there with him forever and explain it over and over in different ways until he gets it.

There will come a time when I can no longer help anyone with anything, but until then, I'll be trying to teach and doing the best I can to support the sport/hobby.

yes sir, when auto guide bought it then it went to hell. moderators went back to beating their chest and threatening folks. during the elections we had canadian mods telling us how to vote or defending the trolls. sad , really sad . dont think there are half dozen of the old posters there now. even thinking of giving advice is a pissing match waiting to happen .
sad to see you go denny but we understand. him in when you can help. you and tech can work me over on this sbf for my gasser. gonna sound good but be a pia to drive .

Denny, I hope you just take a break and come back when you're ready. I can understand the frustration you guys have. People are just insane anymore it seems. If they don't like the answer you give them, they rather try to convince you why they are right and you are wrong. I have no time for that. I for sure don't know it all and I have a very strong idea of day to day work. If you don't learn something new, you're doing something wrong. in the field I chose, everything has been changing since 2006. I've been at the same fleet for 12 years and we have just been getting the new technology emissions stuff etc. So we're way behind and if you can't listen and or get over the thought that there are things you don't know, you won't last long. (Although, I've seen many guys make it many years and they could barely complete a standard service let alone any troubleshooting) The company offers zero for training on them too. Works out perfect. Haha I can't stand facebook due to all the stupid BS so I rarely get on there. I just got on instagram a few weeks ago. A lot less drama there for sure.

I am not a good communicator.
I drop in from time to time and read, look at projects, and if I think my miniscule experience would be of any help, I'll add to the subject. I have been corrected a lot, and that's perfectly good.
For one thing, I can honestly say, I have temporarily lost interest in our Camaro project.
It has become a big pot of spaghetti to me.
I can't wait for it to sell.
    You may ask yourself --
What does that have to do with Denny or his decision?
    Well,
Not a bunch, but there is a little similarity.
I can only do so much, ask some things, and accomplish little.
Denny must feel getting asked for advice or steering us in the right direction has become mind numbing to the point he's had enough of people like myself who think we can handle what seems easy enough until it goes to heck in a had basket ... then we run looking for help.
It is because of people like you fine folks here, that I was able to accomplish as much as I have.
Maybe some of the blame is on my shoulders, as I honestly try to express Thanks to anyone that gave me any response.
    Denny,
If my posts have caused you any discomfort, Sir, I am sorry!
You are obviously an integral part of the CHR Family.
I am not going to read the response above, of you telling it all, or some of it.
Please, just know, as I am a drive by person, your presence will be missed.
Hopefully you will return after some time away, and post once in a while.
Be Blessed, Thank You For All Your Help !!

Just wanted to say thanks to the replies, as it has told me a story on what I wanted to know...
All that have replied, have done nothing to cause me to want to slow down on posting or in helping... One main thing is when I do put effort in answering, I do like some type of response. Without a response, it feels like I'm wasting my time, and need to place my efforts elsewhere. I see by the responses, that they do have meaning. That is what counts. When you get older, wasting time on things is not your friend... Hahaha.

denny, i post on paint forums knowing full well it will turn into a pissing match. but as barry told me long ago it is the folks who read it and avoid the disaster or succeed that counts. for every thread started there are many who read it and get answers.

Denny you've got the best source of real data in the auto world---------not just a google search and paste type opt---------stick around here ----altho I may wonder off as one of my biggest peeves is that I can't post pics the way I want---------after all these years of doing what I've done--------I am thrilled that now cameras can be used without using expensive film/developing, etc and the stuff that I could post micro shots of isn't possible-------but evidently Brent is more interested in the ebay adds/etc than the core issues of the site------

Maybe I lucked out but I think it's really easy to post pictures off of my phone to this site versus how it used to be

Well, he's probably looking at bandwidth for the forum. How ever, there are a few things I wish he would pay attention to, and repair. But, it's not my place. So, with that said, you simply have to find work arounds... There are several applications that you can use to make things work.
First, do you, or are you using a computer to go on the net ? Secondly, if it's by phone, there is settings to change the pixel size, or, a application top resize pixel size. I mainly use the computer, so I have 4 programs that I use to keep the picture looking right, but decrease the actual pixel size.
One simple one is this one, and it's free.

Also, there is a mod for his software, where pictures uploaded use auto resize to meet the forum settings.

PS: Going down to the Byron drags this weekend with my son... Hahaha

Some phones are ok for that. It really depends on what kind it is. Most have a pixel setting, or size. But, on phones where you can zoom in, or enlarge the total picture size, they get large on pixel size. Or, overall size of the picture.
If you try to post a large picture here, and it's to big, you will get an alert to the maximum size. You can then resize and post, or change camera settings to not exceed that size.

I save all my photos to google, if I like to share one here, I'll save it to pictures on my computer and then retrieve it from there off of this forum using the paperclip link. I don't know how it all works but so far it has for me.

Denny, I would like to get to Byron again in October but we'll see if my new aluminum oil pan is done for the car. I doubt it will be.

On another note since we are talking about Byron............... I really wanted to make it to at least Cordova to see the start of Drag Week. The new kiddo coming 2 weeks earlier than what they said changed my plans. Haha

Just a quick note for pictures. This is a pretty nice resizer, and it's totally free.
Here's a youtube video on how easy it is to use.
