Thanks Mike. Now, she wants to do our room, the entry way to the up stairs, and we are going to do the dining and living room before spring. I don't look forward to that. Haha
:LOL: Yeah pretty much same here mine is talking both bathrooms living room and "maybe" the kitchen**)**)
.
Dang man, don't you ever sleep? **) Nice work on the floors. I never used to like hard floors that much but after we redid our living room with laminate, I won't put carpet anywhere anymore. When you see what collects on the hardwood, you know that carpet has to be disgusting, I don't care how much you vacuum it.
Be careful with your battles, when decided to paint our living room, it ended up looking like this.
When we pulled the carpet from our bedroom at our last house, we had the same deal with the pad underneath. It must've been installed in the 40's I swear!!!
To remove the gooey mess I had to use a heat gun and putty knife and warm the floor and push the mess off the floor, 1" at a time! Since the room spanned the whole width of the house - it was a 15 X 30 foot room.:CRY:
I used the same sander as you and had the same issues, the remains would clog the paper, but it gave a nice flat finish. I didn't add stain, just poly over with the first coat cut with thinner. Then "buffing" with steel wool between coats.. oh joy!!:LOL:
Seth, that is exactly what I envisioned when my wife started in about fixing some issues with the plaster. I was like, Deeeeaaarrrr! I thought this was supposed to be a 5 year house? Most of the issues she has can be hidden with flat dull paint when we go to sell it. That's what the PO did and we didn't see them. Haha
I didn't get any poly put down this morning. I started cleaning the mess in Ivvy's room so I can make more mess doing mud work. Oh yeah, I had to take apart a table so we could re purpose it for a baby shower gift for my brother and his wife. I sleep, I swear. It's only like 5-6hrs most days.
Years ago, my boss came into work complaining about his remodel of the whole house. It started when his wife bought new towels for the bathroom, they didn't go with anything in the bathroom so he did that room. Then the bedroom did not go with the bath, another room. Of course by this time the living room was looking drab, bingo another one. By the time he was telling me the story, the kitchen was all blown apart. He looked at the floor and said "all over two new towels!" Way of life old buddy!
She must have really liked those towels
I keep hearing happy wife, happy life and today is our anniversary. We've been together 16 years, married for 8. She's still bitter I took so long to marry her because now we'd be married for 14 years if I asked her when we were dating after 2 years. Hey, I was poor and and, and. I'm out of excuses. Ok, I had hot rod car and truck parts to pay for. Haha
Congrats on the anniversary, I'll bet you waited so long just so you could remind her that you gave her ample time and opportunity to leave . I just did the math on my marriage, It will be our 20th on Sept 5! Good grief time flies.
Congratulations on the Anniversary!
I had a car when we got married, but as soon as we were married I sold it and bought an International AR162. (The 'A' denotes Australian assembled.) The thinking was: Hey; now I'm married I don't have to go out to get feminine company!
I used that truck to lay a metal track from one end of the farm to the other...a mile and a half.
Then after two years She informed me She was pregnant.
Dunno how that happened; but I had to go buy another car.
Congrats on the anniversary Ryan 8-)
JB, why did you need your own rail road?
Seth, something like that. Every time I start talking about what I want to build next she just says, wait a few days you'll change your mind again. Haha She does want the next build to be hers but we'll see. I've got plenty to finish up.
Haha! Just got an email from Roger Spears telling me I'd create confusion with the term 'metal track'. In your language it's a 'gravel road'.
We talk an English language that differs from your English language...
There have been times on trips in the States where a Kiwi would know exactly what I'm talking about; but an American doesn't have the slightest idea.
