WOW!!! Simply WOW!!!:eek::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL: Can you imagine the launch!!
and on a car with irs rear suspension---bounce, bounce, bounce bang, rev, shut off, coast to side of road, cell phone check location, call for tow truck
But, it does look cool!:eek::rolleyes::rolleyes::p:D:LOL::LOL:
Yep, certainly looks killer mean but I wonder how well a set up like that or even something not as wide would handle corners at speed ?
I imagine that IRS got replaced with a narrowed rigid rear end with a 4-bar and coil-overs. That tires don't hang out, so the rear end is a LOT narrower than the original.
Yep, I'd bet that the entire rear suspension got replaced when they tubbed the rear, but it's a moot point as the only reason for posting was the visual impact. Corners at speed?? The only corner that thing sees is turning around at the end of a straight line blast!! Anyone who thinks that the owner of that beast cares about road course performance needs a reality check, IMO. It's a straight line burner, pure and simple.
I'll bet it's just lovely if he gets caught in the rain!
How many miles per gal ???
Well that is the difference between American ( not all gladly ) and us down here in New Zealand, we build our car to drive and that is whether to the track for a days racing or normal either street cruising or open road use. And we do have some down here with big tubs fitted with huge rims and tyres. Now if that car was strictly straight line racing I would think it would be fitted with slicks and wouldn't have all the normal bits and pieces hanging underneath it. I original thought it was a clever photoshop job.
Here we go again.. another example for Mark to say how much better New Zealand cars are.. one picture of someones car with huge tires and Mark wants to say Americans don't build cars that handle streets or road courses..
C;mon Mark, It's just 1 picture. Please don't say that millions of cars can't handle a street or road course based on 1 single picture. Wait a minute.. I think i have a picture of an earth mover here somewhere.... what conclusion will you reach with that one??
JB, how about an 8 ton wheel loader? We can perhaps try a slalom course in the gravel pit.. rofl..
I tubbed my 37 and loved it at the time...would I do another? NO! It rode rough and handled poorly on the road. And God help you if you have a flat!:eek::D...But diversity is what makes the world go around, so if that's the look you like than go for it! JMHO
back in the 70's there were prostreet cars all over texas. daily divers and cruzers. i do not miss it though because i have been caught in some pretty bad rain in one.
sometimes folks forget what it is all about. driveability has nothing to do with it . we build for fun. i built all of mine to suit me, when you start writing the checks you can have a vote .
My last 2 cars (67 FB Mustang & the current coupe) wear the same size tires front & rear. There is a reason for that. I wrote the check so I got the only vote that counted. ( Thanks Shine! 8-) )
Do I like the look of the Mustang in the pic? Sure do! It looks badass. But would I want to ride it each weekend or each day? NOPE! btdt.
Ahem :rolleyes:
I bet those tires smell when they are spinning. Poor tree huggers will hate that. :LOL:
Smell like money I'd bet!
