Yep; five weeks ago now. But She's as good as lovely now; day before yesterday She was out mowing what we refer to as her lawns, a two-and-a-half hour job.
A remarkable recovery in a few short weeks.
Once the doctors have sussed what the problem is they have some remarkable things they can do.
So while our thoughts are with you and Denise, and hoping for a speedy recovery; we hope and pray that the doctors get it right.

Joe,Jr & family flew in & we went to see her. Denise was awake, doing better and was very happy to see Joe,Jr. The doctors said they scoped her again & seen no bleeding anywhere so they're not sure if was the stomach, pancreas or something else. I bet it was the new meds she'd been taking for 2-3 weeks. We were told that if all goes well they should remove the breathing tube tomorrow....joe

A little late to the post Joe (just returned from t.g. trip). Good to hear she's making the turn.......hope for further recovery.

Got a call from the nurse, no bleeding anywhere, breathing tube is out & Denise is HAPPY & is excited to see her grandson tonite. She even had the nurse call to tell me to bring the grandson up tonite..Thanks again everyone....joe

That's great news, Joe. We'll pray for you both in our prayer group tomonight.

Jesus, lay your healing on this family, Lord bless them, give them faith, strength, and cast away any negativity, sickness, or doubt. In Jesus Christ name I pray. Amen Amen Amen.

Prayers do work! Glad she's feeling better

Yesterday was a good day yet a bit sad. The good part was Joe & the family was able to see Denise twice. The Grandson colored a bunch of pictures for her & the nurses let us sneak him in to say goodbye to his Grandma. The docs/nurses got her her out of bed & had her walking up & down the hallway & sitting up in the chair for a while. She looked a lot a better & she said she felt a hellva lot better. The sad part was the fact the Joe & his family had to go back home. But we have already made plans for them to come back sometime in February or March for a lot better visit.
And one of the first things Joe asked me if he could help me with was cleaning up the garage for Marge & he helped me put up a new screen door on the porch. Now when we sit outside the skeeters & flies won't carry us away. Sure wished we lived a bit closer but we'll take whatever time w/them we can. I do know the wife & myself along w/our dogs will be taking Marge on a trip to go visit them this spring/summer. thanks again folks for the thoughts & prayers....joe

Roger, I was shocked when I looked up the drug they gave her "Eliquis" when used by itself & other drugs. Then there's other health concerns they should have w/the health of the person taken in. Denise had like 8-10 on the side effects && then there's the health problems Denise has that should have thrown a bucket of RED FLAGS that should have had the docs thinking if she was a good or bad candidate for Eliquis. From what I read she should have NEVER been given that drug. I told the doctor she'll NEVER talk that drug or any drug in its family.......joe

Yeah, blood thinners are supposedly a necessary drug, but I class them as a necessary evil. In my Mom's later years they put her on Coumadin (Warfarin Sodium), and my Dad immediately responded, "Hells Bells, that's Rat Poison!" He was right, too, and the doctor responded that it had indeed been developed as a pesticide, but that it was now a very widely used drug for thinning the blood and preventing formation of clots. It's a good idea to question the doctor's choices on new med's, especially when a person is already taking other drugs on a regular basis. Also why a good Pharmacist, and getting all med's through one source is important. Looks like there's a law firm chasing a class action suit related to Eliquis, which is not necessarily a good thing but does signify that you're not alone in recognizing problems.

Glad that Denise is getting better, and that she has you to look over the Doc's shoulder, too.

Sadly, I know from where you come on this since blood thinner, Coumadin, was instrumental in my late wife's death.
She broke her leg and she had to come off Coumadin for surgery. She had a stoke during surgery which led to bleeding on the brain and she also had an artificial heart valve and further surgery was out of the question. She lived a week after the leg surgery passing quietly on July 4th, 2010.
I hope and pray that your wife will come through this and can get on with her life.
