It surprised me that you dont have until i looked up Clinton City Missouri and saw the population is less than 10,000 and how far it is from anywhere bigger.Quote:

Also found 'The time flies Malt shop' at the back of the gas station but it looks like its a museum not a working diner.

Yep, thats Clinton, several great car museums in town and restored gas stations as well a restored dealerships (Desoto) our town is very old car "friendly". However none are like your metal building with a cool diner inside!! You are correct the malt shop is private and not open for business.
Here is a photo of my '37 off the square here in Clinton, we boast the 4th largest square in the US and have a monthly cruise night. Lots of the old buildings have murals on them here, many repainted by a local artist, the backdrop on this building is a original left over from when we had a Coke bottling plant.Attachment 65653
