IMHO, if this forum is to remain viable this situation MUST be addressed sooner rather than later.

I've been getting this almost constantly for the last several days. Clubcobra has the same problem.

I can't remember a week going bye in the past couple years that there hasn't been some similar experience, either brief or extended.
There's a core of roughly 20 people who hang here despite the glitches and post with regularity, the rest float in and out, and the newer ones leave in frustration. You're correct, there won't be any regrowth nor viability as long as this pattern persists.

Think the server has hardware problems, cpu maybe panicking, bad memory, cpu could cause that. Will run fine for a day or so, as the load increases it panics, and starts rebooting. Then after trying it finally times out and gives up.

I am guessing this server is in someones home. I say that cause if it were in a data center most likely the problem would have been resolved by now. Even if it took removing the drives, slipping them into a cold server to get back inservice. The outages are extreme and is how I conclude it is a server in a home.

I have been getting the same response for the first time I try to get on in the morning, and if I keep poking at it, it doesn't go away; but, if I leave it alone for a couple of hours, I can usually get on with no glitches. I think of it as similar to dumping a bunch of marbles in a funnel: they have to go through the narrow end one at a time, and it may be a slow process, but eventually, the marble that is "you" will get it's turn.

What a shame, to let it die a slow death like this.

This is the only forum I'm on that has this issue, continuously. The last 5-10 times I've tried to get on here it hasn't worked................

Brent, are you listening? I know well that you are gun shy about making any large scale change to the forum after the mess it generated the last time, but in my humble opinion this would be an excellent time for you to enter into the fray and explain your thoughts, feelings and plans. Again, just my opinion, and like belly buttons......

I've just about had it with this forum, fix the damn thing or shut it off. I typed a long post to johnboy's thread and went to post and guess what, it couldn't connect, what the HELL else is new.

I've experienced the same thing and have learned to copy my post before posting it. Then when it kicks back, I X out the site, re-enter and paste my copy. That usually works. The site doesn't like a long time span from the beginning of typing to the end of what you're writing. I'm not saying it's acceptable, I'm just passing on a fix that I learned by doing it.

    Yep.
    I do much the same.
If it doesn't post I click the arrow in the top left-hand corner to go back, copy and paste it somewhere else, then come back to-morrow and have another go.
Frustrating...particularly as this site is about the best site I've struck on the interweb...full of helpful people with a minimum of 'attitude'.

I don't want to see it fold.
I enjoy the people on it.
