I've been shooting my first DSLR, a Nikon D50 with Nikon 70-300 Zoom lens for about 9 years. If it went kaflooey, I'd replace it with another Nikon. It's cool being able to take just the chip into Walmart and make copies of any photo, any size. Before this camera, I shot a Minolta SRT101 that I bought in 1972. I do not miss taking film to the processors and waiting for it. With the Nikon, I can see what I shot within seconds. I'm just amazed at technology.

Amen Tech! Saw in the last day or so that Canon's new EOS 5D, which is full frame camera (chip the size of 35mm film), will have a version that creates 50MP pictures! Talk about resolution, but also think about the storage of those babies if you shot in RAW mode! Gotta be something in the order of 100-150MB per frame.

Pepi, which Nikon did you get? My son just picked up the Nikon D7100 with a fixed 35mm lens for now, since he already had a DX zoom from his older Nikon.

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.
