Very nice!
Ryan, I found this old post on a Handyman Forum I belong to and I hope it's not too much. I can no longer do this kind of work because of vision and limited hand coordination but I thought I'd share these from the "Good Old Dayz".
Back in the early 90's I had gotten hurt shoeing horses and decided to take early retirement (Mr. Mom) and enjoy my Grandkids which were coming along about that time.
Well, I did not have a computer or a Hot Rod then and my first born Grandaughter was the "light of my life" so I started making stuff outa wood for her and then later my other Grandsons.
Here is the project that I was the most proud of and it was definitely a "Labor of Love" - - it was made entirely out of 2" lumber except for the ears and the light colored side of his face. The mane, eyes, tail and eye-lashes were picked up at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. The only help that I had with this was my friend the antique funiture maker that had a big nice band-saw to help cut the big stuff - - everything else I did with my J-j-j-j-j-j-jIG Saw - biggrin When her Mom divorced my Son, I took the Rocking Donkey and I have it stored upstairs incase she ever wants it for her kids or to display in her Vet Clinic, that is, if she manages to become a Vet.

This was a Plexiglass case that I made for Harlee's Ballerina Doll. The top was removable.

I had some leftover pieces of lumber and decided one day to design and build a Mickey Mouse Bank and this was done with various thicknesses of boards to give the 3D effect and also allow a place to route a groove for the coins to drop in from the top of his head.

Can't remember the name of the magazine that you could order these cool plans out of but here is a "folding" rocking chair from one of those plans. Oh, and yes her nickname was "PeePie".

I made this transition bed for her when she moved from the baby-bed - - it even had slipin side rails. I can't remember how the headboard got so scratched but I'm sure there was a reason - - LOL Obviously "toll-painting" was not my forte'!

And last but not least is the Rocking Horse that I made for my youngest Grandson. I had a friend that was an artist to paint the facial features for me. Most of this was outa scrap lumber also.

Love is what makes it special. I made a crib for my neice. All the of my brother's kids used it. It was a gift from the heart.
Em, those are all very nice. That Mickey coin bank is a great idea. Shoot, they all are. The wife and I will be making a bed for each of our parents this year. Hopefully they hold together.
