I tend to push the puddle, easy to see. The drag method suggested in the article keeps the splatter in the puddle, sounds logical thinking I will give this a try.

Splatter in the nozzle, not a big deal for me, usually just keep it clean. I do that regularly cause I want max shielding and think the build up will effect the gas curtain.
