Nice wheel tire choice! I agree with the wider rear tire/wheel, choices too. I guess what was popular in our youth's era is what we still enjoy! I guess we have to wait a while for any burnout videos considering the west coast moisture this time of year, we don't want you to scratch that nice paint job yet! :)
Very nice,Uncle Bob.. kool,in fact.. When ya get sick of it...........................
This episode was delayed by our "industrious" pals at the postal service, but progress will prevail..............The parts I ordered for the exhaust mod were sent from the Bay Area of California via first class mail. Unfortunately, if an envelope is the least bit "odd" as defined by the design of the automated processing equipment, it gets kicked aside for manual handling.............in this case it sat ignored for 7 days. I know it's their busy season, blah blah.
Okay, so early on I mentioned the "quad exhaust system" on these Boss cars. If you didn't look it up basically there are a pair of side exit pipes that bypass the resonator and muffler portion of the tail pipes so only the cat converters muffle the exhaust sound. Of course the federal noise Nazis are ever involved so Ford took measures to maintain the db output at an "acceptable" level. They do this with what they euphemistically call "gaskets", basically a stainless steel plate with a 5/16" hole in it that allows a bit of exhaust through for sound effect. We scofflaws who wish a more authoritative sound of course figure out how to "help" fix this deficiency. All that's needed is a replacement "gasket"................problem solved.
Here is a picture showing the original with a 5/16" hole, and the repair piece with a 3/4" hole. I didn't make my own recording, but attached is a short youtube that is close but not nearly as gratifying as in person.

That'll catch the neighbors attention!

That flange looks like a good place for an electric cutout with a 3/4" (or 1")hole drilled in it for everyday tone, and a raucous roar with the flip of a switch....
Build it and they will come.....................: QTP - BOSS 302 Kit :.
As tempting as that might be Robin, I quite like the level it is now, as Steve noted, the neighbors know I'm going bye. Speaking of gaskets, Ford might have anticipated we owners being..........self reliant(?).......there are actually two factory stainless "gaskets" at that union, the second one is full size opening..........:3dSMILE:
Heck save money and rill a bigger hole in the stock ones! ;)
Seriously the sound of it going by the person filming it was about the level of enjoyment I'd want, anything louder would grate on you when going for that nice weekend cruise down the coast with your wife!
I hear yah, in my neighborhood, Petaluma may look the other way, as most of our officers seem to enjoy hot rods and motorbikes, but just to the north 8 miles in Cotati, drive by a cop with modified exhaust(esp on a Harley) and expect a fix it ticket. I'd have done the same thing bob keeping in my trunk for the day I get pulled over and explain the the officer, how I had just put them on to see if they were too loud, and had these handy just in case! ;)
My brother up in Steilacoom says the same about the political climate of these two places!
