    Ryan, enlisted service members get several different types of uniform allowances. Today's rate for initial allowance for Marines is $1,823.51. I'm not sure that subsequent allowances cover knife damage, though.

    I don't think that allowance covers half of their uniforms. My brother has only been out for about a year or so. He could tell you more than I can about it. I remember him telling me what all his gear and uniforms cost and it was pretty crazy everything they had to buy to do their jobs.
