What I know as particle board glued together wood chips that is used in sheathing and cheap construction. Fiber board is heavily compressed paper and paper products that I remember as a kid was used for signs. The kind with holes in it is used for peg board and about 3/16 or so thick. I used the solid variety for drawer bottoms in the bench I made for my garage.

Once again, I'm not sure what you're talking about but is it similar to Masonite and does it hold a screw like wood?

Exactly, I never can remember the proper name so I just call it fiber board.
