My favorite cars on my favorite track!!!! Someday I sure would like to do some laps at the Glen, been there for races and even once got to take a 2 lap ride around the track in one of the pace cars! Go fast, turn left, turn right, and work the heck out of the brakes!!! Got to be a blast!

goose the throttle under caution when you see a driver on the track i call bs. he needs to go to jail period. there's a reason for the caution flag. steward is just too full of himself and now he's killed a young man with his fit throwing bs.
Fortunately, in this country our laws have the provision of "presumed innocence". With the scant information available on the incident now, any pre-judging of Tony Stewart (not Steward btw) is quite assumptive. Had it been deemed intentional by the authorities at the scene, they would have held him..... Fortunately, we are not yet down to the stage of social media determining guilt or innocence. Think I'll wait to form an opinion on the subject till all the facts are out.

There are more facts to this than a YouTube video taken from several hundred feet away with a less-than perfect angle to see all that happened.
Did he blip the throttle? Maybe. Maybe not. Could it have been another car closer to the camera? Light travels faster than sound, you know. Did he kick out the back to throw mud on Ward - or was he turning left to avoid him? Did Ward get too close in his anger? Did he slip and fall into Stewart's path?
Too many questions to make a decision from YouTube. If I'm ever tried for something, I hope it's by twelve of my peers, not by a YouTube video and message board comments.
I'm waiting for the results of the investigation.
Prayers and condolences to family and friends of the young man who was killed last night...
Today, the race goes on! Regan Smith will be driving Smoke's car, he looked good in the Nationwide race yesterday. Last year Kyle Busch and Marcos settled it all on the last lap and both are in stout cars for today..... Hope it's as good a race as it usually is at the Glen!!!!!!!

I did watch the pre-race, all the announcers did was state the incident happened and that Tony decided he would not race at the Glen today. I've heard some ding-bat media types on other networks talk like they knew what was going on and they obviously didn't!!!! Doubt most of them even knew what a Sprint car was till this morning!!! Unfortunately in our society it seems more important that we have someone to blame when something goes wrong before authorities determine what it was that actually went wrong, and what should be done to prevent it in the future!!Quote:

Looks like McDowell's car left one wheel and tire, 1 track bar, and half the rear end housing hanging on a post!!!! Tough built cars!!!! Oops!!! Guess that was the entire rear end hanging on the fence!

I know that these guys are Pros but don't you think that yesterday's tragedy has to be in their heads no matter how disciplined they are?

As an ex-driver who's lost a number of friends due to racing deals, it's always in your head----but when the green flag drops your focus and attention is on the current race and not on what happened yesterday or might happen tomorrow. The brain is just too busy going through all the options and challenges in front of you on the current lap and even just your current position. On a red or a long yellow your mind will wander a bit, but when the green comes back out, all your attention is on right here, right now! After the race and on the long ride home is when all those other thoughts get their chance.
It's been exciting so far!
Now another red, this thing is turning into a marathon!!!! Got to have one more yellow after it goes back green, right?

Way to go Dinger!!! A one car team finally gets a win!!!! I believe that puts AJ in the chase????

I think Marcos just ran out of tire, he used them up just trying to keep pace. The Dinger had the best ride and got the win. One heck of a good finish right there!
I missed the last 6 laps. Sounds like they were the best of the race. I had added an hour of recording time but the red flag delay was apparently just over an hour. Two great road course racers battling it out. Damn. I would have liked to see that.

As good as the entire race was, the last two laps would have been worth the price of admission! Came down to who wanted the win more, guess it was AJ!!!
