I agree, Rousch hasn't been in step for a few to many years now. They set the standard once upon a time with 5 teams.. now they can barely support 3 and can only run mid pack! So no-one can blame Carl I guess, maybe he can parlay a championship with a new team.?.?

    I wonder where he goes??

As is often the case it comes down to sponsorship. Part of what drove Roush down was the loss of sponsors. Does Carl take Subway, Fastenal, others with him?

If so, then I'd say look at a successful team that has room to grow. Penske? Carl has been tied at the hip to Ford, so that seems the most logical choice since it's "only" a two car team. But Penske is a thoughtful manager, does he want more than two? That leaves Petty in the realistic Ford camp, but can they handle another team? They haven't shown much management skill to support that. Gibbs? They could grow to another team, but again, do they want to? No room at Hendricks, Stewart-Haas. RCR seems to be struggling much like Roush, and sponsors have been, well, let's say, not knocking down their door. Ganassi............don't think so. The only other team with enough size/backing I can think of is Waltrip. They've been struggling for sponsors as well, but may still have help from Toyota. Maybe?

It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
