Jack Daniels and ginger ale please,,and a big feed of steak n chips... thought oughta do it.. A dollar cover it?? ;) Thanks,Joe..
Yyup,,that's typical of old appliances,Joe.. A cooler was built to last then,,along with most other things that were produced from local factories.. Not like the stuff in the stores nowadays.. Even the ordinary light bulbs that would last for a year or so,,are failing after several weeks.. :( Junk..
Very cool, first Blatz beer sign I've seen in ages
We have one of these trays & a couple of Griesedieck beer glasses & mugs also.

I'd never heard of Griesedieck until a buddy from my Corps days was looking for some when we returned from Okinawa. I thought he was pulling my leg:LOL:
That's an awesome photo. Where was the store?
In the little town of Larrabee Ia......
Here it is today being used by the community....

One of my life long dreams has been to buy the building back & try to duplicate what my parents had or turn it into my home...joe
Oh and did anyone else see the spittoon's in front of the bar in the old pic w/my parents???
.
The sign that caught my eye is the "Play Pool Downstairs". Overall the place reminds me of the couple of bars back in the small mid-west town I grew up in.
.
Love the picture, Joe!

Very cool Joe! That would be awesome if you could buy it back. I'm sure there are a lot of memories for your parent's and you there!
We left in late 59 so I was three & half, BUT we spent a lot of time in Larrabee during the summer & at Christmas. Somewhere in the pics my parents have is one of me at 2 or 3 sitting on the bar & one of my dads buddies letting me take a sip outta his beer bottle. Found some pics w/late 30's, early 40's cars in them that my dad & his brothers owned. I'll try & get them so I can scan & share them w/all of you.
