Really not painful at all to me, it feels more like a deep muscle bruise.
I've been dealing w/knee problem since the late 70's.
Each knee has had 6-9 surgeries on them.

Name something in the joint area, I have torn it or wore it out.
Hardly taking any pain meds but sure could use a could more hours sleep that I didn't get while in the horspital. Great hospital, but it's like, HEY, it wasn't a life threatening surgery & I didn't need people waking my "I want to *'ing sleep" recouping body up every 2 damn hours.

    Ok I lied...
About 2 days after making the above statement all hell broke loose. Painful IS NOT the word I would use to describe the amount of pain I was actually was in. Best way for me to describe it is when that 800 pound door fell from about 4ft & crushed my right knee back in 79/80. The pain was horrible & the drugs they gave me I hated more then the pain because pain would be deadened BUT when I took the pain drugs I would get insomnia and was more of an a**hole then I care to talk about. Man I hated those side effects because it made me someone I hated after things were said. I'm just glad I recognized the bad side effects & took care of the problem. The bruising got a hellva lot worse over the days to the point that my whole calf was various shades of blue & red.
But I am happy to say that today the 33 staple were removed & even though the knee is swollen, bruised & painful it sure does feel a hellva lot better with the staples gone.....

Bad news, Joe. Hope getting the staples out is the start of getting rid of that pain and the newly repaired knee healing up!

I guess I get to join you in July having left knee medial miniscus tear fixed. @ years ago it was both the medial and latreral miniscus tears fixed, then about two months ago had a stumble walking the dogs, when a yippee dog attacked out of nowhere, I literal got yanked off my feet, and landed on the same knee on the concrete! Take care and heel fast!

Yep that sounds about like mine. pain meds made me see things happen that weren't really there or happening... They gave me two pain meds to take after that. About a week of that and I just said pain was better than the sideeffects . It will get better I pray sooner than later.
