I've logged out and logged back in and cannot get that banner to come up. Usually it is a "google" thing, they use meta tags and cookies of other places you may have gone. Sometimes they hook to an image that you saw on another site (yes automotive related) and drop it locally in to your browser. There are programs to block such banner ads. I suggest the following:

https://adblockplus.org
Ghostery

To clean your system up a bit, I suggest:

Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware download
and
AVG Free Antivirus | Free Virus Protection

All are free downloads.

Thanks for the Ad Blocker link, Bill. I hooked up with it for Google Chrome, and saw immediate results. Much cleaner without the pop-ups!
