For Dave Severson
At a little local show today the 1969 Cobra "Tribute" made it's appearance. As noted it's running a 460CI engine, which is bigger than the 428CI that would have been in the car from the factory. It's not an OEM Cobra Jet, but is a nicely done replication of the original with a steroid pump.

I maybe wrong, but I believe he's referring to the motor garnish, plug wires and conduits, all blue. I like the contrast it gives, look close and even the vacuum advance cover is blue.

Roger, I'm guessing Jerry is making reference to the (IMO) god awful ugly blue convoluted hose covering running around the engine compartment. I personally dislike that stuff when it's used, especially when the color choice stands out like a sore thumb as in this case.

Could be, but I was not sure if the "...he would really rather have..." was referring to the owner of the car or that Dave would rather the car be blue as opposed to the light mint green that the owner chose for the re-paint on the ground up restoration. Doesn't matter - all I'm doing is passing on the pictures that Dave wished I'd have taken a year agoRoger

Me neither!!! But since we're internet "bench racing" I'll say that there's something about the stance that bugs me. The wheel fitment and maybe the tires are not sitting like I would like it to. So I would love to own this to "correct" it to my preferencesNick

Yep, and the oil stains from the license plate leak totally turns me off too.

His car, his money, but I do have a question. I was told years ago that the rubber biscuit on the top shock mount should not extend pass the washer, right or wrong?Ken Thomas

I don't remember if all shocks did, but, on many (maybe all) shocks upper end, the shaft is bigger than the thread size and you tighten the nut/washer down til the washer ID bottomed out on the bigger shaft size below the threaded portion---------

Whoever had put the front shocks on the Vette had done just that and the rubber was practically non existent and they were a real bear to get off.Ken Thomas

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
