So the son was cleaning up his truck for the trip back to Jacksonville, NC when two stray dogs come walking dog the street. One passed us by and the other walked into our yard. Danielle came in & said there was a large dog in the yard & was afraid it may bite Joe. So I walk out side & see a large white dog in the yard. I told him to go home but he just sat there so I thought "Get the hose & hose him down maybe he's leave". NOPE, he just stood there & enjoyed it.
Well after he had spent half the day w/us I decided to give him a bath since he stunk & had fleas. By night fall he still was here so he spent the nite in the garage. Next day he stayed again. So yesterday I gave him another flea bath & put some flea killer on him. During this time he was slowly introduced to our two female dogs we have so they would get use to each other.
Well last nite Ace was brought into the house & everybody got along other then he wanted to hump the girls. After several times of tell him no I believe he's getting the idea that he shouldn't do that. The wife didn't want him running the house since we weren't to sure what MIGHT happen so Ace & myself slept in the back room. Well it seems he thought the two large couch cushions weren't either large enough or soft enough for him because this morning when I woke up he was sleeping in bed with me.
So folks I'd like to introduce you to Ace.....joe

Ace is an Albino Pit mix I believe, even w/the small amount of brown on his tail. He has PINK skin & White eyes & surprisingly every I have read says most are blind or deaf & luckily he is neither.

He looks right to home! I've "inherited" a couple that way myself... and they were all the best pets ever!

Nice addition, Joe, altho the pink skin may cause him problems later, he sure looks like and intelligent and loving Pup. I'm liking the name also, it's kinda Old Skool. As the old saying goes, "the more I am around my Dog, the less I want to be around people", and he should make Y'all a loving and loyal Friend.

Mello, he had to be someones dog since there is a collar mark.
I went through McD's yesterday w/the dog & the girl at the window said 3 days earlier a guy came through w/a dog that look just like Ace, so I bet he was dumped which is truly a sad thing to do to any animal especially an older one.
Best part he was trained and knows his commands.
When I tell him to sit, shake, stay , etc he does it.
While playing w/him, he'd nibble on my fist and I'd tell him softly he would nibble softer.
Wife says she doesn't want to keep him, but her body language says different.
She's been playing & loving on him, so you can guess what very well may happen

Well Boys & Girls jump for JOY, Able's(ACE) parents have been found and surprisingly they live about a block over from us. Even more surprisingly is I have seen the dog in his yard from while walking my dogs in the soccer field behind my house, but never connected the two together. Thankfully one of the McD workers asked me about him again today and went & got a flier someone had shown her.
So in about 2hrs Able will be going home to his family..

Well DAMN - - - bitter sweet I know, especailly when you think about the owners feelings - - - it was the right thing to do.
Now do you get visiting priveleges on alternate weekends???? LOL

And now the owner's know that there's a welcome spot for Able/Ace to "visit" if they need to go out of town for a few days, or a couple of weeks!! Thanks for posting the happy ending.

My intentions always have been to find him family if I could or find that special person who would love him and treat him well. So in the back on my mind I always knew there was that chance of him leaving at any moment. Yes all four of us were getting use to him being around, BUT it was also a PITA because we truly didn't know what would have happen if we left him loose w/the 2 females. So we locked him up every time we left.
The owners are a couple in their late 70's early 80's who had hoped someone good was taking care of him. The wife said they had given him a bath & had let him outside. We gathered that Able & his neighbor dog buddy got to playing between the fences & then both gotten out of their fenced in yard, walked out into the soccer field behind us & played. When it was time to go home they followed the fence line down to the highway & then walked up our street. Able's buddy kept on going & did end up back at his house but w/out Able. Able seen "human companionship" as he walked by our house. They owner told us he was a very friendly fellow & loved to be with & play w/anybody. Thankfully he choose us.
As far as visitations, shouldn't be to hard to do since strangely enough I can look out our back gate across the soccer field & see the run away in his own yard, lolol. Yes he lived only a block away unknown to everyone. So I guess we could sneak over for a visit if we wanted to....joe

I'm glad to hear this was such a nice outcome. If Able was totally lost and just being "passed around" or from an abusive home I wouldn't think it was such a happy ending. But I love happy endings and this is a good one. Congratulations and thanks to you and your wife for doing the right thing for him.

Isn't it amazing how animals can bring humans together so easy. The Good Lord definitely new what he was doing when he created wild and domesticated animals for us to enjoy. Now you have met some new people in your neighbour hood that you may of never of had the opportunity too meet and all because of a friendly dog. Imagine if all this world in which we share could come together with the love and acceptance like our domestic animals can do. I'm actually watching the neighbours cat playing with our Trixie, Yorkie, out in the conservatory at the moment and it is as if they don't realize that they are a cat and a dog, they are just enjoying each other company.
