It's not April Fools Day but it is Warped Wednesday. Also keep in mind that even though no cameras will be there to record the race, we will all be able to see every detail of what happened in the LEGO re-enactment.
Bonus "Manteca facts": On April 1, 1996, KVFX (The Fox) in Manteca, CA played an April Fools' joke on it's listeners when the morning DJ's Bryan Suits & Cheryl Merrill did their show in Spanish (more or less).
Just some kind of bs, nothing about it on the NASCAR site, or mentioned on Race Hub the last couple days. But then I never did believe YAHOO to be any kind of reputable news source, either......:LOL::LOL::LOL:
Of course it's BS. without TV NASCAR would wilt away.
Yes, it is a joke.. it's the cable suspended camera that will no longer be used/allowed.
:LOL::LOL:They just won't have "cable" T.V. there this week.:LOL::LOL:
Some one had to know that was a bad idea. Them car run faster than a quarter back. I learned YEARS ago cables brake and act like a whip they can cut you in two. In the factory where I worked we never used cables to pull things (other than overhead cranes) all work was done with chains..When they break they fall to the floor. I won't tow with a cable.
My understanding is it isn't the cables that broke! It's the rope that's used for propulsion that broke. The TV showed the rope that night at the track and it's some kinda cloth supposed to be as strong as steel but it's a fiber!
Mythbusters proved a cable cannot cut something in half...:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:

Mythbusters don't work in factories.. I have seen what a stretched cable can do.
Then mythbusters methodology was flawed.
In the infantry, we would occasionally have to recover heavy equipment, and the first rule is don't stand near the cable. When 45 tons breaks a cable, you don't want to be anywhere near.
I never said a cable wouldn't kill! In the right circumstances, even a chain can/will cause great harm, perhaps death!
