Just catching some of the reports on the news....What a terrible ordeal for the people who live there! Reports I'm watching are from Moore, Ok., just south of Oklahoma City on I-35.
We've got friends in the Oklahoma area, at Perry and Billings.
North of Oklahoma city on 35.
For some reason e-mails to them have never got through; so our contact has always been by snail-mail.
Does anyone know how I can source the telephone directory for the area on the inter-web?
'Cos it sounds pretty bad from what I've heard.
51 fatalities including 20 children so far but they expect that number to get larger - - - my thoughts and prayers have been gong out for the families and friends of that community - - - without a strong faith, how could you consider yourself a survivor?
They have recently issued a much lower fatality number, thank God, and the last I heard was that rescue efforts had recovered 101 alive and safe - - - bout time for some good news among this mess. I'm sure it will take days and even weeks to sort thru all the rubble and destruction and hopefully more will be rescued.
Just seen some of it on the news. They were interviewing an older lady who had lost everything. She was upset over her dog, apparently all she had, and while they were talking to her they found the dog and he was ok. She said God had answered both her prayers, she was alive and now her dog was ok. Tough deal to watch considering the young kids that lost their lives. Prayers sent.
we just had them roll through hear . i grew up in a storm cellar it seems . when you have cool front roll in late in spring this is what happens . all you can do is get in the hole and pray .
what really got me is when that older woman asked for help getting her dog out they were more interested in getting the shot than helping. she asked them twice. the reporter and camera man should be ashamed .
yup Shine, it's more about camera angle than humanity ain't it? this morning they are saying 24 fatalities including 7 children but it's the news media so take it for what its worth. A friend of mine mentioned the other day that Moore had been hit back in 99 also. Unbelievable to me that someone would rebuild again after all of this.
if you aint got a hidy hole your toast. i spent much of my youth fighting spiders for a seat.
lived in the Panhandle when I was young and I remember spending some spooky time in the cellar but Dad moved us to Southeast Texas - - Praise the Lord !
