well here she is.:whacked:
going to convert it to manual brakes, and ax the power steering
just mocking up to make all my mounts and headers, then going to re-wire and paint car
You are a sick and twisted individual Scooter! Which is probably why we all like you!!!!! Looks like it's all going to fit, good luck with the mock up!
This is the kind of hybrid car I like ;) I think hybrids qualify for a tax deduction so don't forget to take it off what you owe Uncle Sam.
Now where did I put all those steel olds cranks??????????and check out the diesel blocks for some thick walls-
one of the areas in this combo is dist clearance at the fire wall----------
is that an Easter egg color????????????
2 inches of clearance at firewall with HEI it fits like a glove. going with 1/4 steel plate welded to k-frame and using 64-6? chevelle frame plates with olds block mounts it actually sits to low in the chassis without the 1/4 plate under the stands. also we were thinking instead of finishing the mounts to just do a motor and mid plate. easy to do elephant ears up front and lots of room for the midplate ears to!
so we are pondering.
my friend who used to have the motor built his about the same time i had my 301 refreshed 3-4 years ago and he picked out some fancy engine paint that color green, i want to say grabber green? but i think it was just some engine paint. mine was yellow he wanted green we called them the skittles motors
jerry, the diesel bocks are great but dang near impossible to find. i also have an olds 425 but it is in pieces.
in the pictures the motor is sitting about 2 inches back from where it will end up being in the end
Diesel blocks had smaller main sizes around 2 1/2 main vs 3in?????????
diesel block and 331 crank was planned for my early Monza pro stocker------
to my knowledge they are the same because guys will take and make them into stroker motors. with olds crankshafts
i think i am going to go with these, and use a front ears instead of traditional block mounts
Olds Shorties
Nice project you have here! I love the different route too!
With that yellow tape on there it looks like a John Deere wannabe...................................but then...........you are in Spokane.
Foldsmobile almost sounds like a curse being put on it to have an accident. I think you should call it an Oldstang.:whacked:
