Well, it was a matter of time - 80F yesterday afternoon, breezes from the south and this morning the wind shifted around, bringing the cold. It's been dropping steadily through the morning, now at 42F with a "Feels Like" of 33F. I'm thinking it's Dave's fault, sending his cold my way trying to get rid of it :LOL: Last I looked Sioux Falls was 34F, feeling like 23F :( Too early for this!!
it's supposed to hit here tomorrow sometime with highs in the 60s and low in the 40s and that will be a welcomed sight
I guess if I had to choose between that cold front and what's coming up the coast towards Upstate NY, that front would win - and might just change all the predicted rain to some ug-el-ly white drifts. Home is in NY and about 1/8" from where MA and VT meet:(

Sorry Roger, forgot to close that dang gate again last night and all that cold air from the Great White North had nothing to stop it till it got to KC!!!!! Well, we got Snow here last night-the Wife is on her way to Ft Collins, CO (to visit Grandchildren-did I mention that Grandmothers have a disease? It's called Grandchildren-on-the-Brain and it's definitely terminal)-I know they got about 4" up there last night, so I am little nervous as she is going over Vail Pass and through the Eisenhour Tunnel (11,000')-thank Gawd for 4wd-
The cold should be hitting VA in a couple of days.. I was really hoping to paint my current project before it got cold. I guess I'll have to wait until spring.
Only thing 4wd is good for around here is getting run over ! We use it so little that they forget that just cuzz you can go,doesn't mean ya can stop !:confused: And of course this is Soccer Mom SUV capitol of the world.Quote:

sandy is suppose to come on shore close enough here to make it real interesting. then it is suppose to turn into frankenstorm and hit north of us. everyone north of me please stay safe. Charlie's base is already on alert for it and norfolk is at alert status 4. they are closing all of our tunnels in the eastern part of the state for a few hours tonight to test the flood gates.

Down here close to the Gulf they describe the West side of the Hurricane as "the clean side" and the East side as "the dirty side" .
This has pretty much been the case in all of the storms that I have witnessed here in Texas so good luck to all of you no matter
which side you end up on.

Yeah, we were 23F here this morning, but we're heading to around 49F, a veritable heat wave!! Left the '33 outside to test my crank fuel settings for cold start and it worked pretty good all frosty!Quote:

Ok so here in north Calif we usually just get rain in fall...this year we had seven tornado warnings and three touch downs last Monday :eek:....what the heck, the mountains had 28 inches of snow overnight...they were estatic.. yesterday and for the next few days we are in the high 70`s which will mean most of the snow will melt.

Definately wierd weather. Cold and a few days of rain here last week, then hot again during the day, but cool evenings. Suppose to be 76 high here today, but rain for Halloween, which is about right! The high day time temps are a little strange though. A very dry year. We were happy to hear the SIerras got a few feet of snow, as the snow base equals water next summer!
