That's got to be a beautiful sight! There's a much smaller one near here, with less than 100 balloons, and THAT is impressive!
it is the worlds largest baloon event.
760,000 people attended this year
My daughter, almost 29 now, still has memories of the Saturday morning when she was almost 2 years old, awoke early and Daddy came in to get her without waking anyone else. We stepped out onto the deck, her in my arms and there were the baloons heading towards us in the distance, drifting to the north a bit, but very obviously descending from their sunrise launch. I grabbed the camera, loaded her in her car seat and we raced a mile or so north to a school parking lot. The balloons were heading to a big cornfield adjacent to the school playground, and we stood there watching them all glide in, land and then deflate for transport back to their launch site. A great, great family memory for the two of us!!
there were 99 luftballons
i checked....
Billy, is that near Albuquerque ?
The reason I ask is that my Wiffy's brother sent us a bunch of pics several years ago of a Hot Air Baloon Fest and I think they were near or around Albuquerque . Great pics BTW ! thanks
That's a lot of balloons and a whole lot of hot air all in one place!!!!!!:LOL:
I guess this is New Mexico Balloon week ----with the sky diver going up to try and break the sound barrier---------must be 98% helium atmosphere down there--------(yes I know its a HOT AIR joke)
