I thought you guys got rain with that front. They got it west of you in soldier.
One of our sons lives in Soldier his father-in law says they will be lucky to get 50 bushel (corn)an acre this year
He's probably right. I have a friend that lives in Grundy Center and he said they got about 2" of rain 2-3 weeks back and their crop looks to be about 75%. He said their crop insurance is locked in to pay up to 170 bu/acre. He said his Dad thinks they'll be able to pull off 170 bu/acre right now and be ok. But he also mentioned, we still have 5-8 weeks to go. Hopefully it'll come around, but it isn't looking good.
Back in late May it got up to 107 a couple of days but lately it has been in the low to mid nineties
HOWEVER, the humidity is ever present and you never get completely dried off after a shower.
As they say in Texas, "if you don't like the weather just hang around for an hour or so, it will change"
Being retired, I only work outside a couple of hours in the morning and then again in the afternoon.
I can't tolerate that humidity and heat like I used to and I don't have to so that's makes it pretty nice.
