You know you're a Dog Lover when.......

My wife showed these to me from her poodle forum friends:

You go to bathe & pick up the dog shampoo you left in there by mistake from the last time you bathed the dog(s). Realizing your dilemma after pouring it on your hair, you shrug & shampoo as usual!!!

When you are watching tv with your SO and you say "I love you" and get no response...so, you say it again...then your SO looks at you and says "Oh, I thought you were talking to (insert dogs name here)!"



when you use the same whistle for your kids to come as you do for the dogs
when you call the kids by the dogs names, and vice versa
when you call the male dog 'son'
when you brush your hair with the dog brush since you can't find your own
when you are willing to spend several HOURS making/baking dog treats, and the family gets Hamburger Helper!!

When you turn the radio in the car way down because it might hurt the dogs' ears.
When their hair products are a much better than yours.
When dog tongue on your mouth no longer bothers you.
When much of your income goes into them.
When you feel terrible about them getting a single flea bite, yet you yourself have way more various bug bites at any given time.

* when your dogs bed is worth more than yours
* you talk to people you don't like b/c they ask you about your dog
* your dog eats better quality food than you do
* you cancel functions b/c your dog isn't feeling well
* your dogs shampoo costs $11 & yours costs $2
* you spend 90% of your time online researching various "dog things"
* you buy a $13 bag of treats for your dog & buy yourself a $2 treat
* you catch your dog (puppy) leaving teeth marks in your new iPhone & they
look at you with those puppy dog eyes & your heart just melts!
* you come home everyday at lunch just to see & play with your dog
* you ask for "dog stuff" for your Birthday & Christmas

When you come home from work and the first to get a hug is the pup!

Well that is it......differently a dog lover..... our new little Yorkshire Terrier sleeps in bed under the covers with me and gives these lovely small growls when I have had to go to the loo and am climbing back into bed,but I wouldn't have it any other way..

I have a hard time deciding if dogs or horses are the greatest of God's critters. They'll both be in heaven for sure!

Now cats... They seem to be the animal of choice for pictures with the devil.....

all of those fit my hubby except the one about the brush. and that is only because his dog has more hair then him :)

Yeah, I can identify (or admit) with most of those. It's amazing how quickly a good dog becomes a treasured part of the family.

We have had our pup since May of last year - and can't ever think of not having her. Her bed - which one. She has three in the house, one in the car and a puppy pad in my truck. The back seats of both - ha. That's for the dog. Shampoo = mine is .98 at Wally World hers, $8-10 a bottle. Her food - dinky little can - just under $2/each. The dry food - that isn't cheap either - plus it's almost all grain free organic as she is allergic to wheat. She has become my wife's shadow. Wherever my wife is at any moment, the furry shadow is about 3 feet away. Her hair cuts - $50, mine, $12-14 (but I do have to say that she has a LOT more hair)
