Did NASCAR Ruin Talladega Racing??

I think they ruined the racing years ago. I hate this tandem stuff. But you can't go back. You can't take the knowledge away from the drivers and teams. I used to love Dega. I can remember 6 and 7 wide lap after lap. No tandem stuff. And the guys that knew how to work the draft could come from the back to the front in just a few laps. NASCAR has instituted is own form of "Affirmative Action". If you can't figure it out, if you don't have the balls to make that move.............. finish last or go the F home.........................

I'll go one step further. NASCAR might just go ahead and take a lesson from WWF (It's WWF not WWE) wrestling. Just go ahead and script the damed thing. Winners pre determined and leave the actors a little ad lib during the duration. It's hyped about the same as wrestling................ might as well play it like that. Life ain't fair.......... there Ain't no such thing as a level playing field........... so just quit F&^*ing with it..............

They call those guys "Start and Parkers". There were seven of them in the race at Talladega. The guy who ran one lap earned $78,687 just for qualifying for and starting the race. The highest earner in this bracket took home $91,082. Some teams do this for the whole season, and by only having two or three cars (to support qualifying), a couple of guys in the garage and using engines for multiple events, they can actually earn well over $1M per season (gross). It's said to be an anomaly that's unique to NASCAR, but a permanent part of the business, mostly due to the economy and the challenges to get full season sponsors. It costs upward of $20M per year to seriously contend for the cup, and in the $3M to $5M range for trucks.
